Frankfurt Book Fair is a huge fair attracting trade visitors from almost every country. It was pleasure to meet representatives of world famous publishers and understanding their needs. eBooks were main attraction of the fair this year and in 2010. We saw a small change in eBook industry this year. People were waiting to see their eBooks in EPUB 3.0 and were more inclined towards interactivity of eBooks. Few people asked us for Apps instead of simple eBooks.
You can locate almost every famous publisher in this fair. Publishing Service Company like Braahmam was eager to meet publishers for Digital Publishing requirements. We received good response from this book fair and invited for Frankfurt book fair 2012. We recommend publishing service company to visit this fair every year. It will be injustice if I will not talk about the city and the people of Frankfurt. Frankfurt is a beautiful city influenced by typical European architecture. I was impressed to see such a clean city and wonderful public transportation. The climate was bit cool for us. The temperature was around 10 degree Celsius. We all enjoyed cool pleasant weather of Frankfurt. Generally the people of Frankfurt speak in German but they understand English as well. They were very helpful.
In the end, we hope that we generate some business from this visit and will visit Frankfurt in 2012.
Thanks & Regards,

“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” by Confucius the famous Chinese philosopher & reformer.
On the same lines have you ever noticed children picking up things faster when the medium is learning the concept through playing and listening stories rather than reading and memorizing it? Have you ever thought why they always remember the concepts told in the form of stories or games? Not only children but young and elderly also remember things told in the form of stories and games or jingles. We still remember the bedtime stories told to us by our grandparents and parents with moral, but don’t really remember the algebra formula taught by the teacher.
Technology revolves around us to make things simpler and the curious IT professionals understood this concept of learning through interactive system in terms of games and stories and discovered a new way of learning. This innovative idea of blending technology with learning is named as E-learning. E-learning programs are designed in such a way that it makes learning fun and full of excitement.
Most of the companies, small and big, are focusing on creating games and simulations for teaching various educational concepts to kids with the help of E-learning applications. This is creating a huge revolution in the field of learning and now e-learning is giving a new dimension to the meaning of learning or education.
Now you are not required to run to your institutes or colleges to attend your class, because the same course can be learnt with all the comfort of your home or office.
These courses are made interactive and exciting with the help of animations, illustrations, images and videos. At the end of each course, the students are introduced with quizzes and exercises to ensure they can apply the lesson learned.
Thus, e-learning supports in the learner’s development but in an interactive way. The combination of instructional design and multimedia creates an exciting environment for learning. The user can repeat the lessons for better understanding hence the option of revision also exists. The learner is introduced with exercise after every topic so that he can recall what he has learnt in that section and solve the problem on his own, which builds up learner’s confidence. At times interesting hints are also provided to the learner while taking the course as well as while performing the exercise.
These small and interactive steps ensure that the concept is learnt in a better way and the learner is confident that they will be able to apply the learning.
It would be difficult to fill in the excitement of this system in this provided space but to conclude we can say the systems are in place, and the time has come when we will finally say an adieu to the old method of rot learning and put our feet forward towards these interactive learning experiences, where we can truly say and mean “Learning is Fun…”
Localized World – The next stage to Globalization
Let’s think the world before Globalization, the distance was a great deal and space was often measured in time, the territorial boundaries more or less kept things in and out, society and culture were unknown among the people of world.
And more Specifically, Everything had its “place” (literally) until Globalization took place. People had enough goods in production that they wanted to cross the boundaries of their nationalities. Hence everyone wanted to enter the Global village, which I can call by the name “Globalized World”.
Globalization is a difficult term to define because it can be defined in various ways. In general, globalization refers to the trend toward countries joining together economically, through education, society and politics, and viewing themselves not only through their national identity but also as part of the world as a whole. Globalization is said to bring people of all nations closer together, especially through a common medium like the economy or the Internet.
But Globalization is just the first step in the process. Everyone was moving out of their boundaries, but unfortunately they found there is a different world outside their countries.
The people speak different languages, they have different cultures, habits, and moreover they will not accept your offering in the form of product if you cannot make them understand it and you are not aware of their needs. Hence the new name of Globalization originated i.e. “Localization”
Localization is the process of translating or adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local “look-and-feel”. The localization process is most generally related to the cultural adaptation and translation of software, websites, and less frequently to any written translation (which may also involve cultural adaptation processes). Localization can be done for regions or countries, where people speak different languages, or where the same language is spoken. For instance, different dialects of Bengali, with different idioms, are spoken in India than in Bangladesh; likewise, word choices and idioms vary among countries where English is the official language (e.g., in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines).
The Need of the Hour was to understand the people of world and their Locales, their culture and their values. One cannot sell a product in Saudi Arabia if it is not presented in Arabic. One can not sell a product in Germany if it is not presented in German. One can not sell a product in China if it is not presented in Chinese. So one can understand, how important a language is and how it can help you in selling the product in the Global world.
We can say that Localization is the backbone of Globalization, and its ultimate support. There are 195 countries in the world with 6700 recognized languages. So the scope of globalization is beyond the range itself, if we just follow the process of Localization. Localization means adapting their product as per their language, culture and the country style.
Since Globalization has already begun, now it’s the turn for Localization to step into this world. The opportunities are in abundance for the Localization Industry. Since everything is ready to move everywhere, so they are required to be localized in every language. The basic source of both Globalization and Localization is Internet. Internet is the medium of globalizing your product, and now websites are the medium of localized product as every company is looking to localize their websites into different languages.
The other things that are being localized are books, manual guide for any product, advertisements, movies, videos, magazines etc.
Hence, it is just the beginning of this Industry and it will go way beyond the imagination because till the time Globalization lasts, the Localization Industry is here to survive, grow and to become stronger.
Now I think, we can say that Globalization is the past phenomenon and we are entering into the Localized World.
